Holiday Gift Guide! Here's what to give the cook, the person you want to encourage, the creative, and the mama this Christmas!
I honestly didn’t plan to write up a gift guide. But as I kept seeing beautiful products on Instagram, reading books I wanted to share with you, and finding items to add to my own Christmas list, I realized I had somewhat of a gift guide on my hands. So here we go!
I tried to include a range of prices. I have everything from a dish towel stocking stuffer for less than four dollars to high-quality kitchen knives. Most items, though, are somewhere between the $15-$40 range. You may also find that a few of the items are familiar if you’ve been following along here for a while. (Yes, I realize I’m recommending Every Moment Holy for about the thousandth time). But even if you notice some repeats, I hope this list will spark your gift-giving creativity, and you’ll discover a few new favorite products and creators!
To Give the Cook
Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat: Mastering the Elements of Good Cooking by Samin Nosrat—(We’ll be making our way through this book in the spring for Cookbook Club!)
Alaska Pure Sea Salt—I have a bag of their original flake salt, and it’s amazing. I especially love adding it to baked goods like these Christmas cookies!
Wusthof Classic Two-Piece Prep Set, paring knife for a more budget-friendly gift, or 8-inch chef’s knife (I have this 8-inch knife and LOVE it.)—Your knife is the absolutely most important tool in your kitchen. It’s worth investing in a good one (and taking care of it!)
Gray Washed Cotton Smock from World Market
Molly on the Range: Recipes and Stories from An Unlikely Life on a Farm: A Cookbook by Molly Yeh—I’ve been following Molly Yeh for a while, and she has delicious, creative recipes. Her cookbook came out a couple years ago, and it’s worth adding to your shelf.
Stocking Stuffer: Black Villa Stripe Kitchen Towel from World Market
To Give Encouragement
It is Finished Abstract Print by Lindsay Letters—I have a large canvas of this in my house, and I absolutely love it. It reminds me of the truth of the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus every time I look at it.
Every Moment Holy by Douglas Kaine McKelvey—Have I talked about this book enough over the past year?
“Think Good Things” Black Tee from Spoonful of Faith
Beholding and Becoming: The Art of Everyday Worship by Ruth Chou Simons
If God is For Us: The Everlasting Truth of Our Great Salvation by Trillia Newbell—This is a great 6-week Bible study on Romans 8
Stocking Stuffer: Daily Grace Scripture Memory Journal—Encouragement from The Daily Grace Co.
To Give the Creative
Cultivate What Matters PowerSheets Intentional Goal Planner—I’ve used Powersheets for the last few years, and it’s been such a helpful tool for me! You can also buy lots of fun accessories to use with the planner.
Adorning the Dark: Thoughts on Community, Calling, and the Mystery of Making by Andrew Peterson—I have not read this book yet, but I’m excited to dive into it soon!
2020 Calendar by Morgan Harper Nichols—A beautiful calendar with encouraging words for every month
A Million Little Ways: Uncover the Art You Were Made to Live by Emily P. Freeman
Moleskin Classic Notebook—I have so many journals it’s sort of ridiculous, but I actually use them all. There’s really nothing like good ‘ol pen and paper when it comes to jotting down creative ideas.
Stocking Stuffer: Sharpie Pens—There’s nothing like a good set of pens, especially when they’re Sharpies.
To Give the Mama
Grace Upon Grace Tote Bag from Phoenix Feathers Calligraphy—I love this reminder of God’s grace, especially in the most wearying days of motherhood.
Faux Fur Slippers—I’m home most of the time with my kiddos, so I love throwing on a cozy pair of slippers!
The Village Issue No. 4—These magazines are stunning and celebrate motherhood in a beautiful way.
The Magic of Motherhood: The Good Stuff, the Hard Stuff, and Everything In Between by Ashlee Gadd and Coffee + Crumbs—I’ve bought this book for so many new mamas recently. It’s a beautiful, encouraging book by my friends at C+C!
Stocking Stuffer: Face Masks—Mamas could always use a little relaxation. I love using face masks like these ones!
